Family RV Trip: Autumn Along the Pacific Coast of Washington State

After a fairly long drive, which including mountains, heavy "rude drivers" traffic we arrived at the beach in Ocean Park, Washington.

What a nice and active beach town.  It reminded Heather, Mama, and I of Cocoa Beach of the 1960's --> 1980"s.

Our spot for the RV at Westgate RV Park and Cabins, put us right next to the beach entrance, something we planned to use a lot.

Our puppies could also small the salt and hear the waves. With them in tow, I swore the leashes would break, we headed off to see the Pacific Ocean.  Bella Boo, had never seen the ocean.  While she seemed afraid of the waves...she braved the sand and sea foam like a pro.

Zoey Bear on the other hand was a pro having previous beach experience.

She promptly found a buried razor clam and took a pee in its hole.

We faced a beach storm during our month at the ocean. We incurred some damage from the storm, our A/C unit started to drain into the RV. I knew the problem was a clogged drain hole so I had to climb up and clean out the drain. It was plugged up with Algae and while easy to fix short term, I couldn't apply bleach to kill it off while we lived in the RV. So after only a few days, we began to get a new waterfall inside the RV. It got to be a sore subject with me trying to fix it while working with the ladies to not make life insufferable. We never resolved this during the month and it honestly made life in the RV the hardest we had. Once the RV was moved to another location, the A/C was a nonissue.

We did spend time exploring the local tourist places.

During the time we stayed in Ocean Park we were house hunting.  We as a family had determined that three people, three dogs (including our Sasha, that passed) and two cats in a 27 ft long R/V bunk house for over 1.5 years had warn on us.  R/V life has its limits and we had all reached ours.

Wow!!!  House hunting...lets address a few issues. Not one property we looked at was suitable for our needs.  A lot would not pass a home inspection, others had Wharf RATS that were huge!  Bigger than I have ever have seen. This was mostly due to all the local processing plants for shellfish that surround the area.  House hunting was becoming impossible and winter was closing in.  Many of  properties are taken off the market during winter and it makes house hunting even harder. We had hope also some serious doubts that we would find a house that would work for us.

OMGosh...Heather found us a perfect looking and sounding serious possibility.  We has to get going and go check out this house.  So we left the next day relocated us and our R/V to the wheat filled plains of Eastern Washington State.  We had some trepidation since we were heading to a tiny town that only had one home that fit our wants and needs.  But, we soon discovered that this "Little House on the Prairie" might just be filled with surprise and hope for our family.
