Life has been filled with loads of stress for the last several months. Dan and I felt we needed a day to enjoy each others company with no FurBabies, no Mama (we love her to death, but sometimes we all need time to ourselves), no RV Stuff, and no Daily Life Tasks. We really just needed a Romantic Date Day to Ourselves. A day to talk, hold hands, and share lots of kisses. We started out the day with a plan to go to one of my favorite shops "A Day in the Country" in Hendersonville, NC and then drive over to Lake Lure, NC to have a picnic. Lake Lure is where part of Dirty Dancing was filmed.
Just like in life we have to be able to adjust our plans on a dime, if needed. Today a change in plans was needed since the weather was not supporting a picnic lunch by the lake. It rained hard off and on all day long. Plus, we had lots of Lightening and Thunder. Or as my mother used to tell me as a child...that Angels were bowling and having lots of fun in Heaven.

The minute we arrived at "A Day in the Country" is started storming. It was so bad that the power went out. This was about the same time that we decided we needed to come up with a backup plan for the day.

Backup plan!!! Lets go to Burntshirt Winery and do a wine tasting. We saw a sign for the winery and honestly had never heard of nor had we ever tasted their wine before. Beautiful place even in the rain.

Our date day didn't turn out the way we planned. We think it turned out better! We ended up going to Michael's Craft Store, we found a brand new Hobby Lobby that is almost finished, we went to the World Market and got some fun stuff (including HP Brown Sauce), we walked around Ross Dress For Less, and Dan picked out a new 16 squeaker ugly bird toy for the FurBabies, we visited A Day in the Country Store, we enjoyed a picnic lunch in the car, drank some wine, drove around Lake Lure, and ended the night with dinner at Cracker Barrel...or should a say breakfast for dinner. It was a Great Day with the Man I Love!
Oh, as for our thought on the Burntshirt Winery? We came, we saw, we drank...and the wine stank!
