Girls Day Out! Banco, Lunch at Trattoria Novecento, Coral, Mall Del Rio, and Still Unpacking

Since our wonderful landlords Jenny and Juan were having our place painted Dan thought it was better for him to be at the house with the FurBabies.  Mama and I agreed so we headed out for the afternoon.

First, we headed to a banco to get some much needed ca$h,  All of our bank cards have been partially demagnetized and will work in stores, just not in any ATM machines.  Luckily, the banco was able to work with us and off Mama and I went to have lunch and do some shopping.

We had a wonderful lunch at the Hotel Saint Lucia in Downtown Cuenca.  Dan and I had enjoyed a wonderful lunch their a few days ago and we just knew Mama would love the vibe and food.  She loved the place as much as we did.  Yummy Italian and a Great escape from the craziness of Cuenca at lunch time.

From there we took a cab to Mall Del Rio.  It is pretty much just like any america mall.  I'm really not a fan of shopping so this really wasn't that much fun for me.

Then..............................We went in to Coral.  OMGosh.......the Ecuadorian version of Walmart.  I think most everything (minus food products) they sell is from China.  And I'll be honest the majority of the stuff they sell is a much poorer quality than the United States Walmarts.  Everything we touched was filthy dirty and when we washed our hands what came off was black.  As you can tell I'm not a fan of Coral.  It is possible we were looking at the wrong items and possibly Coral is known for products we didn't see or know about.

Then we headed over to KFC to get some Chicken Tenders, Rice, Beans, Cole Slaw, and a Lemonada to take home with us.

Once we showed Dan our few purchases they watch "Riddick" on DVD while I unpacked more stuff we brought.   If we have learned anything it's bring a crocked pot or have one muled.  Crock Pots are EXPENSIVE.  Tomorrow Mama and Dan are heading to the Rotary to look for furniture.  More shopping info to come.  Sweet Dreams.
