While Heather, Roman, and I were waiting for our Carolina Smokehouse items to arrive we decided to grab a quick bite to eat in a restaurant next door to the Carolina Smokehouse.  Colombian food!  I have had it before many times and we sat and ordered our some food. Within five minutes it arrived...Hot.  And really Delicious!  If your in the area give it a try.  It's a seriously a different type of cooking compared to Ecuador.  It's was very affordable and the menu had a lot of options.

It is really interesting is all the different types of food I have gotten Heather to try.  She jokes that she is a lot like a 5 year old when it comes to being adventurous.  So far, since we got married Heather has tried Iranian, Greek, Colombian, French, Peruvian, German, Bavarian, and of course Ecuadorian.  I am sure there are others but they are just escaping me right now.  The point is Heather has opened up her mind, and now gets excited to try different foods.

She has also gotten much better at recognizing different spices and flavors. She has realized that her palate can be developed with just a little work and she has made leaps with her efforts. I am very proud both her and Candy.  They have broken out of their shells and started to try a lot of foods that in the past they would not have.

Heather is so good at it that she can now season homemade sauces and she can taste it and figure out what it needs, if anything. That’s hard when every time we make sauce its a bit different. But she now knows what to add to make it taste great. It has increased her enjoyment and has added to the adventure of living outside of the United States of America.
