Our Carnival Liberty Mini-Honeymoon Cruise Review: Tuesday, January 13, 2015 - Day 3 - Nassau, Bahamas (Picture Heavy Post)

This morning Dan and I woke up in Nassau, Bahamas.  This was my third time at this port.  It was a much nicer in appearance and cleanliness than it was back in 1991 and 2004.

We arrived in port at about 8:00am and the ship is scheduled to set sail from here at 5:00pm.

After breakfast up at Emilie's Lido Buffet, we heading ashore to do our mandatory shopping at the Straw Market.

Now, I will say that the stuff is pretty much the same from stall to stall.  Oh, almost ever single stall has knock off high end purses.  We were only on the hunt for 2 purse type bags for both Emma and Danielle.  The first lady we spoke to in the market was friendly and chatty.  She wasn't pushy, at all.  I saw a bag that I thought would be perfect for Danielle, but no bag that fit Emma.  We knew we were going to be bartering the seller for a 2 for 1 deal, therefore we had to find a seller that had two bags we liked.  We were looking for bags with the girls current favorite colors as the main background.  Danielle, at this time loves red and Emma, at this time loves purple.  After spending over an hour searching and being pushed to our limits of pushy sales people, people pushing tourist stuff, traffic, and the heat we felt it was just best for us to go back to the very first lady we encountered and pick 2 bags from her.  She helped us pick each of them a pretty and fun bag. :-)

From the Straw Market we searched for a shop selling sealed USA bottled water.  It was so hot and humid walking around the island.  We were also beginning to get hungry so we made our way back to ship to relax in our stateroom, shower up, and order some room service.

We arrived back on board and back to our cabin at 12:30pm and we ordered our lunch.  We were not sure what we really wanted or what was good so we ordered a few item.

Our Order:

1 - Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich
1 - Grilled Cheese Sandwich
1 - Chicken Fajita, Guacamole with Greens in a Jalapeno & Tomato Wrap
1 - Veggie Sticks with Blue Cheese Dip
1 - Fresh Fruit Salad
1 - "4 bites" slice of New York Cheesecake
4 - "8 oz" cups of Orange Juice

Dan had enough time to get a cold shower and get dressed before lunch arrived at 12:50pm.  I was in the middle of my cold shower when it arrived and Dan had it all set up on the bed so we could relax and enjoy our meal in our warm (No A/C, see the end of our cruise posts for details), quiet, and now calm/still cabin since we were in port without waves smacking the ship and our cabins window.

We talked about our plans for the night and decided that we were just going to have dinner up on the Lido deck and have a relaxing night.

In the evening we took a walk so our room attendant could re-purpose my towel animal (see the end of our cruise posts for details.)

While we were walking around we checked to see what the movie(s) of the night were up on the jumbo Sea Screen and there was only one playing:  Guardians Of The Galaxy at 7:00pm (we already have this movie at home on our Apple TV, so we skipped it.)

For a while, we managed to find a completely quiet place "The Library."  We spent some time alone playing checkers and Battleship.  Dan, beat me at checkers, every game.  Battleship ended up being a tie...I won the first game and Dan took the second.  We had a lot of fun just playing, relaxing, laughing, being stress free, and enjoying the comfortable A/C.

At about 10:00pm, we retired to our stateroom and set the alarm for Half Moon Cay, Bahamas this port is the reason we picked this cruise.  I've never been to this port, we are so excited to finally get to dip our feet into the beautiful Caribbean waters.
